Petition:

Kraft Mississauga Flour Mill is a heavy industrial operating in the Credit River Valley, a sensitive wildlife refuge.
Kraft Mill pays only $73,000 in property taxes. A site this size, 38 acres, would normally pay $2 million.
Nearby residents are subjected to noise, grain/flour dust and emissions from about 10,000 diesel trucks per year.
With 50 huge concrete silos up to 90 feet tall, nearby residents are extremely concerned about the potential for grain dust explosions at the Kraft Mill facility. An explosion can throw 5 tons of concrete 1000 feet to hundreds of homes within range.

We, the undersigned, petition Kraft Foods, the Province of Ontario and the City of Mississauga to remove all heavy industrial facilities out of the Credit River Valley and restore it back to its natural state for the health, well being and enjoyment of the public and as wildlife habitat.

We urge Kraft Foods, the Province of Ontario and the City of Mississauga to cooperate in the production of a business plan that would relocate the Mississauga Flour Mill to a suitable site, that respects the health, safety and environmental rights of the public.
